Bahco Socket set

Two people at work have just bought socket sets:

The company set (identical) really did cost something like £400 so it looks to be a good price. So the buyers know what they are like.

As usual no connection, not even as a customer (satisfied or otherwise).

Bahco belong to snap on eventually, bahcos own claim to fame is invention of adjustable wrench . Some very good deals on Amazon for bahco socket sets,

If they're owned by SnapOn it explains the high price.

It has been over 400 on Amazon from time to time,

140 quid wouldn't get snap on spanners in those sizes never mind sockets. Depends if AF sockets are of use, my AF spanner selection is 8 &12" Bahco's.

Few cheaper metric only sets. Decent wall drive sockets and wrenches arent expensive if you've struggled on with cheap ones.

Snap on are a work place wonga, main business is really credit .

Gedore belongs to Draper eventually.

This similar set has been £60 at Clas Ohlson for at least the last month (from a previous price of £150) although I see it has finally sold out:

But I'm not sure that comparing current prices to the daft Northern Upholst ery-style starting prices is the true measure of a "bargain".

Just beware that you are buying from another company through amazon, so you cannot initiate a chargeback on a credit card if there's any problem with the goods.

Looks like the Bahco brand is getting dropped from sockets and wrenches and they are clearing stock, Bahco adjustables haven`t dropped to Alis cave pr ices..

Same as ordering via Ebay and paying by Paypal.

Paypal is generally quite good at giving you your money back if there's a problem. In my limited experience. They seem to be more weighted in favour of the customer than seller in this case. Perhaps one reason why many retailers don't use it?

That is not my experience when experiencing an unauthorised payment.

PayPal said there was no evidence of unauthorised use and closed the case.

Despite claiming a response of 48 hours, they ignored 3 messages through their website.

Phoning then and threatening I'd go through my card issuer to get a refund, they said "go ahead".

So I did.

Beware of PayPal, keep your eyes open.
