I have a double glazed back door with a multi turn lock. Sometimes, which seems be more regular, it will not unlock with the key. However I have unlocked the door now and I am about to disassemble the handle assembly to look at the barrel, but I suspect the problem is in the lock itself. I will need to take off the long metal strip on the end of the door, are there any pointers, like the internals falling to bits..?
I had that with my back door! Now, the internal parts could differ, but mine was due to a small screw that was loose and gradually coming undone and catching on the mech. The screw is visible in a small part of the movement of the handle and is difficult to get at - the slot showing needs a screwdriver that is narrower than the screw.
