Which is a problem for people who have received multiple blood transfusions in the past simply to supply them with other blood components. Mostly this should no longer be a problem now that all 13 Transfusion Centres have the equipment to carry out a lot of separation and processing.
It was that lack of ability back in the 1970's and early 80's that resulted in the decision to buy concentrated Factor VIII and other blood products from the USA.
No-one knew about hepatitis-C and HIV back then.
I've never yet met a doctor that knew as much about nutrition as a bunch of random people on usenet. Sorry state of affairs, considering so much disease today is caused by bad nutrition.
