Recently purchased a kit from an Amazon seller which had an important component missing. This has led to a long exchange with the supplier. At an earlier stage thee seller came up with the explanation that the missing component was posted separately, which considering the space available in the packaging received, seems unlikely. When I told them I was still waiting for the missing component to arrive, I was told that this part was no longer in production, which I thought was quite a coincidence.
The back and forth is still going on and my suggestion that the suppliers side of the story is stranger than fiction seems to have been met with the removal of the paragraph in their earlier official response that "the part had been posted separately".
Has anyone else on the newsgroup ever experienced the re-editing of Amazon's official communication system in this way?
Ayway, I asked to be compensated, to enable me to buy the part from another source. The seller now wants me to return the the kit to an (EBAY!) return centre in UK rather than China. I don't want to do that. I just want the missing part.
