My main Denon amp (which as far as I know is not the one at risk) has a Zone 2 HDMI output. I want to feed it to two different locations: video & audio to a TV, and audio only to an external amp.
I searched around and found several audio extractor gizmos: HDMI in, HDMI and separate audio out. I thought one of them would be ideal.
And then I realised that the audio out signal was intended to feed a pair of loudspeakers or a set of phones, not a line-level input on a second amplifier.
My question - which I know is naive in the extreme - is this: if I connect the gizmo to my second amp, am I likely to do it some fatal harm?
Many thanks.
