aaargh - washing machine input hose come out of fitment

While I was moving my washing machine the input hose pulled outof the fitment where it goes into the machine. Cue several dozensof gallons of water over the kitchen floor... But now I can't get thefitment back over the hose - it's one of those screw-on things thatholds the end of the hose against a rubber washer on the machine.It must have got through the hole on the way out, but there's nogive on the fitment to let me push it back over the hose, and Idon't want to risk breaking anything by pushing too hard orbashing it with anything... Any advice please?(The machine is an AEG Lavamat Turbo washer-drier, if that helps).thanks,Andrew

Yep - called a checkvalve, now standard for a lot of fittings.

I said, it's about 2"" long, and 1.2" wide at widest point. The blue bit is what screws on to the water supply. The text on it is

SL EPP-WS

90(degrees)C-MAX 0,2-10 bar
