I'd assume other race includes Asians but the number seems low. No idea on the two unknowns. The UCR (uniform crime reporting) system is anything but uniform.
Then we get to Hispanic/Latino... Many forms have the category 'White non-Hispanic'. I check that one. Hispanics sometimes are white, sometimes not depending on which is more advantageous. Some are actually old stock Spanish. Others are mestizos or some other complicated mixture of white, black, Asian, indigenous, or Klingon.
It's like our stellar VP who prefers to identify as black rather than Indian.
That's Cuba but may typify most of Latin America.
But we all know there is no such thing as race; it's just a social construct except when it isn't.
I like dogs but don't care for blue heelers (Australian Cattle Dog). Metaphorically speaking I think they were God's first attempt at making a dog. When he saw the outcome he said "Oh s*it, I can do better than that and tried again but failed to discard the first version. Since they were a cross between dogs and dingoes apparently my gut instinct that they aren't quite a dog was correct.
Of course, this has nothing to do with humans.
Actually I read alt.home.repair but given the amount of cross-poasters it's hard to tell. I think I did subscribe to s.e.d at one point but found it as on point as a.h.r.
That's because I'm in it.
Which are sterile. If your theory is correct it doesn't work that way for humans. If anything fertility is enhanced.
A little more. The rule of thumb is 20% of body weight for a dead load,
25% for a live load. The theory is a rider works with the mule where the panniers require more work to balance. It was for horses but I saw one site that claimed the rule in the UK was
10%. Either the UK breeds a lot of draft animals or not too many people ride. Morgans are a popular breed in the US and go about 1000 pounds. By that rule, anybody over 100 pound would be sol. They no longer breed their own mules but the Ninemile Remount Depot favored Morgan mares. Morgan horses themselves made good trail horses so they would bring good traits to the mule.
Not many people ride horses here, but I knew someone who had some very powerful (shire?) horses. But he pulled things with them rather than carried.
Doesn't the USA use gasoline for everything now?
Draught horses need a lot of oats so they're usually gainfully employed rather than hanging around waiting for someone to ride them. The breeds are interesting with roots in medieval times when you needed a big horse to carry Sir Lancelot and all his armor.
They're used for packing into the back country and pleasure riding. I was out in the woods yesterday and saw a group of 4 people on horseback.
The fairs in the northeast have horse and ox pulling events that are popular. Horses are drama queens. They prance around and are hard to hitch to the stone boat. Then they poll in fits and starts. The oxen come out, are hitched, and walk off pulling the weight. When they stop they're done.
They used to use them in schools .. plugging in shunts or multipliers as needed.
You could easily knock one up ... wind a coil, hardboard pointer.
Yip, two foot tall. Surprised there's no market for them now. They do still teach kids what electricity is, right?
This one is a terrible actor, and so is the horse:
He has had better vehicles... I'm not big on fabricated accents in historical dramas. 'The Vikings' come to mind where each actor invents their own version of mangled English. They should be speaking Icelandic which is the closest extant language to Old Norse.
ROFL at you calling a horse a vehicle.
Sean Connery's Scottish accent is ridiculous, it sounds like a drunk. Hang on, scratch that. All Scots are drunk all the time.
If you want to make your own, you could use a servo as the broom straw holder and rotate to whatever degree you have in mind for the display. A display device does not have to be an exact copy of a Simpson.
