My attitude??? Have YOU built an EV???? I have. Way back in the late 70's I've done the research - and the work. A friend just did a Miata with the latest Lithiums and AC motor. The best of everything - money no object (one of the "blackberry multimillionaires" ). Great car but still not his "everyday driver"

There was a small local company that made a lot of the stuff for schools across Canada and I believe the USA as well. Can't remember the name. Then there was another company - Ritz Electronics? in New Dundee that made a lot of custom stiff too

Mention EV and many people just think the worst and nothing will get any better.

And many more have noticed that an EV does nothing at all for them except being able to refuel at home, but at a much higher capital cost than with an ic, particularly if they choose not to buy new cars.

Oh, I should mention, some day be it 40 or 80 years, we will run out of oil and it will be very expensive as it becomes more scarce. Meantime if we learn more about harnessing the solar power and building the infrastructure, it will be a simple transition.

If EVs do end up providing any advantage apart from being able to be charged at home, THAT is the time to consider them.

That remains to be seen. We may in fact end up synthesising liquid fuels for ic engines using the energy from nukes.

And if the price does end up very high THEN is the time to changed to EVs.

We already have that simple transition for all except long trips, right now.

The problem with it is that it is only useful for about 30% of the day.

They are completely right about computers. They cant be clocked any faster, they cant be made to work with much less power - all they can do is add more cores.
