Churches? Other charitable organizations who are interested in relieving human suffering?

All 11 million? Some of the percentages don't add up but the site claims

65% of those over 16 are employed. 89% of the kids are enrolled in school, and 80% have been in the US for 5 or more years. Home ownership has an asterisk but show 28% are not paying rent.

It seems there is a whole lot of complicity going on.

I was thinking more of those photos showing endless lines that appear to be military aged single males. So you crawl through the fence. What do you do next? You're from Guatemala and have limited of no English. I know some churches have outreach programs but given the influx I doubt they can have much effect. Most churches have problems keeping their heads above water except for the megachurches. For the latter I don't think the prosperity gospel is big on altruism.

Flipping it, if I illegally entered Mexico how would I survive? Unless it was part of the upgrade the fence along the border in the Ajo sector is a joke. The barbed wire doesn't even have barbs and Mexico Rt. 2 is about

100 yards away. No problemo, but what then?

A wall is a joke. Beef up the Yuma sector and the action moves to Ajo. Clamp down on Ajo and it moves to the Tohono o'odham rez. That's only a minute part of the 1900 miles. As long as people can enter illegally and not starve to death I don't see a solution. As long as employers, and I include Joe Sixpack picking up laborers at Home Depot, profit nothing will change. Further, the illegals apparently can make enough money to be good little consumers so there is money to be made there too.

Side note on altruism: I agree with Nietzsche's analysis in 'Genealogy of Morals' and other works that it's a scam.

Walls make for good neighbors.

And for "stupid idea", this is a propaganda narrative pushed by the guys that want illegal immigration.

Walls have been demonstrably proved to work in Israel, where those wishing to breach the wall have a hatred of Israel that is beyond our understanding. And it still stops them the majority of the time.

The Vatican also have a very nice working wall as do the Obamas.

R,

Add to your excellent analysis, no welfare (which is basically what you were getting at) and mandatory e-verify to get a job, plus some hefty fines for hiring illegals.

Civil disobedience. It has an ancient and honorable tradition.

Googling for "aid for undocumented immigrants" turned up quite a few hits. "charities for undocumented immigrants" was another fruitful search.

Not to mention that many have relatives already living (legally and illegally) in country.

That's a great article, but I don't think I needed to read it to know that walls don't work. It's good to see confirmation, though.

Time to go low tech. A few drones with machine guns mounted on them. Well that might be high tech but should be very effective. Just put up a single strand of wire with a warning on it that cross it and be shot.

I might be in favor of that, under the condition that everyone who was involved in proposing it and approving it will be the first to personally test it. Once that group has been shot, everyone who still thinks it's a good idea can be next to personally test it. With all of those folks out of the way, it shouldn't be hard to find people who are willing to take it down. Then, perhaps, we can get serious about immigration reform.

You GOPers are really mean angry rotten inhumane "people".

Lucky for the Jews they're not very good at it.

No they are pretty good at it. Have you seen their tunnels? Why do you think the big brouhaha over the Israelis limiting shipments of cement?

As the bushman states: you do not have to be faster than the lion, just faster than the other guy.

The Israelis are just better than the haters.

Nice to see you advocating murder. Good job.

Democrat Rep Stacey Plaskett advocated murder when s/he suggested that President Trump be shot for his handling of documents.

I call it protecting our country. Just as shooting someone that breaks into your house.

I did say there should be a warning not to enter illegally.

If someone breaks into my house, I have a reasonable expectation of imminent personal danger. That's not the case with someone coming over the border.

So, we should shoot insurrectionists too! The are WAY more of a threat to our country.

That sounds like a defense strategy that's guaranteed to lose.

There you go again. There is zero evidence that any of Trump's buddies profited from building that wall. But there sure is a mountain of evidence that $20Mil+ flowed from foreign businesses, including ones tied to Chinese intelligence, right into the pockets of the Biden family. You sure have some balls.

No, they just hand out borrowed money like it grows on trees. Trillions spent since the 60s on welfare. The poverty rate is the same, but the out of wedlock birth rate for blacks went from 20% to 70%.

Hardly surprising, we see that in a two-party split, 60-80% of welfare recipients are Democrats, while full time Workers are evenly divided between parties.

You have similar results in this recent NPR-Poll. Among the Long Term Unemployed, 72% of the two-party support goes to Democrats.

Is there any surprise? Of course people who don't want to work are going to vote for the party that gives them handouts.

They'd be perfectly happy

Democrats would be perfectly happy to confiscate all the wealth, ask Bernie.
