There are many reasons of power of attorney. The wife and I have power of attorney over each other. My wife knows nothing about how to handle things like an IRA or taxes. She is just not interisted in learning about that. As an only child I was forced by the government to have it on my dad when he was in the VA hospital. Had to go before a judge to get it. His body was weak, but so was his mind.

Look, there are fewer republicans than democrats in this country. How the taxes are utilized will never please everyone, but without them, there would be no US at all. The proper solution is to match taxes with spending, something the republicans clearly don't understand. I'm all for paying for what we get (fantastic highway systems, national defense, social safety nets for the aged and infirm, universal education, regulatory structures to protect air and water quality, et alia).

The problem is that we are paying for a lot that we don't get, that's a waste. that goes to special interests or down the drain. We've spent trillions on welfare. When it started in the mid 60s the poverty rate was the same as it is now. What has changed? Back then the black out of wedlock birth rate was 20%, now it's 70%. That's what happens when you encourage single families and pay people to have kids.
I agree that some changes are needed to make the tax code fairer.

By the time he left, $8 tril in new debt was added, a record for one term. And then you come here and have the nerve to call others RInos?

I never did buy into the tale about manna falling from heaven so obtaining food would seem to require money, ignoring the increasingly common approach of stealing it from retailers. From what I've seen of homeless encampments somehow the people have acquired tents, sleeping bags and other gear, which again would seem to require a source of money.
So, exactly where are the illegals getting the basic necessities? Who is facilitating their existence? Walls and high-tech solutions aren't going to stop the influx. Making illegal immigration even more unpleasant than the conditions they left might.
