I have a gas fireplace with remote. It turns on with the little box if I turn it to on, but when on Remote it won't come on. I changed the remote battery and the batteries in the box....still won't turn on remotely but fine manually....any idea?

Does the remote have any other functions besides on /off?
Do they work?
Can the remote turn it off after you turn it on at the box?

Just sayin'-- do you think it might increase your chances of getting help if you thought to mention the make and model...and also explain what you mean by the "little box"?
In the mean time, just hoist your lard ass out off the couch to turn it on/off.
I think he doesn't want to get off the sofa to change channels.
