Removing electric meter lock ring

As one firefighter I hope you find that is bad advice. Any fire service personnel That would help you bypass the security looks on a utility installation need to have their annual medical moved up with a request for a psych evaluation.

Determine whether you can take the meter off its installation. You can remove the entire meter if it is covered by a straightforward seal.

On the other hand, those protected by thick rings or specific locking enclosures prevent removal without seriously harming the meter or providing a risk of fire, electrocution, or shock. The best course of action for these is to get in touch with your local utility.
