I want to replace the 35-YO Amana POS that I've hated for at least 20 years. At the time Amana was THE reliable brand. Hah.
Just bought a Samsung gas stove from Best Buy. It never occurred to me to buy the extended warranty. I've never needed that on anything EVER. One burner igniter went out in August (repaired) and again last week (two attempts at repair, last one POSSIBLY successful, but the second 'repair' failed 2 hours after the guy left). Less than one more month on the warranty. Who knew that a gas stove could have problems? For the rest of my life I'm going to worry about the oven going out and being dependent on assholes to fix it. I'll never buy any Samsung device again. Ever. I should have known after the big flatscreen TV with the line of hot pixels and the laser printer that wrinkled the paper and printed badly, but it's SUPPOSED to be a good brand, right?
My wants are simple: a 20CF+ bottom freezer with adjustable shelves and NO icemaker. Are there any brands to avoid or favor?
