OT Eye exam, 20/30?

On NBC news tonight, they said cities that have a large immigrant population the crime rate has gone down. Of course, there are exceptions and they make the news.

People of any age might move out of state or become incapacitated ot die. I've never come across a state that give 8 year licenses to anyone. Some states have shorter license periods for old people, but that's mainly so they can test them again at renewal time. Should every state do that? Probably but someone has to take the ininitive.

I know that when I'm 85 I'll happily play for a full-length 4 year license because I'll be planning to drive the whole time. I'd be pretty annoyed if they said it would cheaper because it would be shorter, because they expected me to die or become decrepit in the full 4 years.

It costs money to run the DMV and the fee they charge for licenses pays a good portion of that. I don't mind if they get a few extra dollars the last time. I can't spend it after I'm dead.

Florida is 8 years so I will be 80 when I renew. Then I'm good to 86!

Last week, a 13-year-old girl was attacked in broad daylight by an illegal from Ecuador wielding a “machete-style” knife.

The attacker grabbed the child and her male friend, who were walking home from school through Kissena Park in Flushing Meadows, and forced them into a secluded area at around 3:30 p.m. on Thursday.

He tied the two children by the wrists with a shoelace and then sexually assaulted the young girl.

After the attack, he allegedly stole their cell phones, told them not to do anything for 20 minutes, and then fled.

The two children then returned to their school to report the attack.

The New York Post reports that the illegal, Christian Geovanny Inga-Landi, who sources believe entered the country in 2021 through Joe Biden’s broken border, was taken into police custody early Tuesday.

At 74 and no more than I and the wife go I believe it would be lots less expensive if we hired an UBER, rented a car or truck or something like that. Probably would if I could get one when I wanted one. Usually make a 10 mile round trip to the store once a week. Club meeting once a month and wife trip to the hair shop every week. Then three or 4 hundred mile trips every year.

I thought we would in North Carolina but Monday took the wife to get hers renewed and they did not test the eyes. Just filled out the paper work and took a picture. She is over 75. Had the cataracts removed last year and sees well at a distance with out glasses now. From what I got at the eye doctor you could have your eyes set for far or close up without glasses. There is some way to have both but the doctor said he did not do it because many are not happy with the results. He is a well respected doctor so guess that he does not want to harm his reputation.

I am not a Biden man but thought that a few pounds , maybe 100, was listed as enough to kill about the whole US population. About 10 tons a year should have done in everyone. Too bad most of that did not make it to Washington and wipe out the current government, both parties.

It is funny to watch the GOP'ers time after time throw away any semblance of dealing with reality to cave in as the trump sycophants they clearly are.

trump is very successfully destroying any credibility the GOP ever pretended they had. Now, they all worship a felon, because they actually think that is the way to claim absolute power.

The voters will likely tell them clearly, again, how wrong they are.
