OT. Amazon Prime???

That's it. Free shipping that is usually expedited, Amazon music, and Amazon TV. Some of their TV fare isn't great but I do like Bosch, Tin Star, and other of their in-house programs. They also have Peter Gunn, Yancy Derringer, The Rebel, and other vintage shows.

That was one of their better efforts. I liked Tin Star too. Others are so-so but if you hunt around there is a lot of vintage stuff. Route 66, anyone? Davy Crockett?

I don't drink beer so I'll splurge on Prime. It's no worse than my CostCo membership.

Bezos kicks it up a buck and he rakes in another billion. How nice.

I would like to see Bosch as I have been reading the books but with my cable package I have a ton of stuff to watch. I would also not be surprised if series bleeds over to these channels. Recently Britannia came to Epix from Amazon and Star Trek Discovery from NBC.

One thing you notice right away is how bad the production values are on a lot of those old 50s shows and the story lines are pretty simple minded too. Then you find exceptions. A lot of the comedy still holds up quite well. If you are an antenna guy, you find a lot of those old shows on the sub channels of the networks. There are also a couple of minor broadcast networks like Cozi that have old shows. They probably started as cable operations and bought some transmitters.

I don't have cable so most of what I watch is Amazon or Netflix DVD's.

You are probably saving money and prime should be good for you. I already have too much to choose from but I am paying for it.

The only time I am exposed to cable TV is when I'm traveling and stay at a motel.

My channels number up into the 1800's not all numbers are taken and some are duplicate and most are not HD. Then if there is nothing you want to watch there is On Demand. If you know a movie title and would want to watch it you just speak into the remote and see if it is available for free. Most are but some recent one may require a fee. Then I never see commercials as I DVR stuff in advance to watch later and fast forward through commercials. I can even access all my channels on my tablet including Netflix and HBO Go if wifi is available. Adding Prime to this mix would be insignificant considering the cost.

The best thing about dumping cable is, eventually you realize there is an off button on the TV.
