Genie garage door force adustment

Dec 20, 2017 3 Replies

The garage door has a 3-5" gap from the floor when closing, the force adjustment has been max to up arrow. Also noticed that placing the arrow in the middle of the adjustment gets the same result of 3-5" gap from the floor. Is there another way to close the garage door to the floor? any help will be a great help.

This or these will adjust how far from or close to the floor the door stops. Some openers are thumbscrew(s) and others require a screwdriver.

If you disconnect the door from the opener arm, does the door manually close all the way?

Or is there some binding during the last 3-5 inches of stroke?

Good test. Another is to try moving the door by hand. It should move freely, balanced, with not a lot of weight. If it's not, the springs need adjusting, but I don't see that as the problem. Also some have a travel adjustment that is independent of the closing force adjustment.
