One of the two rough service incandescent light bulbs in my garage door opener power head that comes on when it operates burned out.
It's a bit of a PITA to get to them so I was thinking of replacing both with long-lasting LED bulbs.
Any issues from the vibration on LEDs?
Vibration shouldn't be an issue but I've seen scattered reports from people who say that their garage door opener *remote* didn't work reliably after installing LED light bulbs in the opener, so that might be something to look for. Something about interference from the LED driver circuit.
FWIW, both of my chamberlain (AKA liftmaster) openers each have two LED bulbs and I reliably get 500 foot range on the remote.
Hadn't even thought of that. Maybe I'd better RTFM or check with the manufacturer!
I have used LED in mine for about 3 years now, and have had no problem either with the bulbs of the opener remote.
Nope. Been using LEDs for "rough service' apps for years - including my garage door opener
That was common on some of the early "bootleg" LEDs but with recent brand name stuff that actually meets specs it hasn't generally ben a problem.
The light would only be a problem when attempting to close the door with the light still on if it was going to be aproblem at all
