Faucet handle coming loose

Mar 05, 2018 4 Replies

The faucet handles for my bathroom sink work fine but I have this house guest that stays with me occasionally & when he does, he insists on pushing the faucet handles back beyond where they shut off so you have to pull hard to get them to turn on. Is this turning the handles beyond their normal stopping point going to eventually wear down the inside to the point where the handles might eventually have to be pushed back far to get them to turn off?

Worse case it will probably cause the washers to wear out prematurely. It sounds like it has washers, because with a cartridge there is a hard stop point.

If I had a house guest that did that, I'd tell him to quit doing that or stay in a hotel next time he visits.

My sentiments exactly.

Once again, I had similar thoughts, but figured I'd stick to the AHR part of it, figuring they should know how to deal with the behavior part.
