Do you think the Democratic ticket would have gotten more votes if she had worn a dress or skirt some of the time she was on Tv, etc.?

Skirts are for old ladies. I'm 63 and I haven't worn a skirt in 20 years. Many, many women wear pants almost exclusively--especially women under 60.
Hard to say. The minds of people who would pay attention to that sort of thing are a mystery to me.

They look like men when they wear pants. I don't care if the pants are tailored differently.
I said what's in the OP to a friend and she kept saying it was sexist. I said, Yeah it's sexist but it could still be true.
I think pants turn off men any older than I am, 73, and some who are younger, and if she wore a dress some of the time, Biden-Harris would have gotten more votes.
Even though she is married, not a 9 or 10, and they will never even be in the same room with her, I think skirts remind men of many ages of their mother, aunt, grandmother, and generate a feeling of kindness or welcome in them.
Apart from cocktail and evening dresses, yes. Sure, some young women wear skirts to show off their legs. But they also spend a fair amount of time in pants.
So what? What difference does it make if they look like men? It doesn't make them men. No matter what I wear, pants, skirt, or a suit of armor, I'm still me and I'm still female.
More votes from a dying cohort of the electorate. There are more voters under 60 than over.
Again, so what? Kindness or welcome is irrelevant. Competence and toughness are what matter.

It depends on where you live and if you mean people who actually vote. This is the first election I have seen around here where the number of younger voters was actually significant. We did set records maybe more than the country as a whole but it is clear, love him or hate him, Trump turned out the vote.
They don't turn me off and I am older than you.
That is very arguable indeed, particularly with the sort of person that votes democrat.

I wasn't suggesting Harris (or Hillary) never wear pants. I think they both would have gotten more votes if they were seen wearing skirts some of the time.
It's nerve-wracking if a woman looks like a man, just as it is if a man looks like a woman.
But you're not running for office. I think if you were, it would help to be seen wearing a skirt some of the time.

Well sure. I'm not saying it would have doubled Biden's vote, only that it would increase it. I don't think her wearing a skirt would cost him votes from those under 60, only gain from those over.
If that were all that mattered, the news commentators would not have all mentioned how well-liked Biden is, and that Hillary wasn't liked (I never understood why that was apparently true about her, but my lack of understanding doesn't change things.

The electorate would be doomed to disappointment. Even the last time I attended a dressy event, I wore pants. Velvet pants, but pants nevertheless.

I heard that song when Goldwater was running for president and other than a bunch of wars we had no business in and freedoms lost, things didn't change much.
The excuse I have heard is "same day registration". They didn't show up in the statistics about registered voters. That will be easy to prove or disprove and with this guy, you know they will have to prove everything. If Trump doesn't just take his ball and go home, this mess will make Bush v Gore look like a landslide. I am personally hoping for the former. We have enough problems without starting that kind of food fight again. Bear in mind, Gore didn't give up until December 12. I am just happy we are not in that mess down here. Florida finally did something right. Maybe they will start the "Philadelphia Man" jokes now. ;-)

Some states reported phenomenal voter turnouts. I get suspicious when the historical data is a rather flat line and then there's an abrupt spike.
Could be worse. We had a couple in our shop years ago, both were about
40 and they were both about the same size. One day she would come to work wearing blue sweat pants and the pocket was in the front. Next day, the husband wore the same pants, pocket in the back.They shared other clothing too. I'm guessing the just had a pile of clothes on the floor and grabbed something every day.
