Clothing and politics

Yes.

I don?t given the mega s*it fight this election turned into and the fact that both the main contenders got about the same big increase in the number who voted for them.

Biden just did better than Hitlary which is hardly surprising given how much better he appeals to blacks and hispanics.

The Dems should exercise a little care. Biden was an also ran in the primary until South Carolina where the blacks loved him and he did well in other southern states. GA and NC still don't have a result but unless they go blue Biden did not win one state in the Deep South.

That's the problem I see with stringing primaries out over months. Candidates get discouraged and funding dries up after primaries in states they aren't going to win.

Then there's the potential VP who couldn't even find her was to Iowa.

Other than some explosive rhetoric and some hurt feelings, not that much changed.

You can trace a lot of it to the states that allowed people to vote from their LaZboy and not have to go stand in line somewhere.

You think maybe she should be more like s**nk Guilfoyle?

There are quite a few pictures of her in a skirt and a few in a dress

- and she wears them as well as she wears the "power suit" and always madestly.

Maybe if his suits fit???

Heh.

I've been mistaken for a man a couple times at the hardware store. I couldn't care less.

In 2018 the voters of the state of Michigan enacted a ballot proposal to allow everyone to vote from their LaZboy. The will of the people made directly into law. Michigan Republicans were hopping mad about it.

I could "call" your anecdote with one from the college town in which I live, but what would be the point?

After all the votes are tabulated and made part of the public record, some social scientist can spreadsheet them and let us know the age breakdown of those who voted last Tuesday.

Everyone knows, real votes are the ones cast after standing out in the cold for an hour or more. Votes made from the comfort of you home just don't work as well.

What do they do in Florida? Bring in giant air-conditioners to blow cold air on the waiting voters?

Dang. My vote for Biden didn't work.

Most of us are just wearing shorts and T shirts so when you enter, they have a walk-in cooler to stand in for a few minutes to get tortured. Makes for better votes.

Do you have any evidence?

Cindy Hamilton

Yes, it is tiresome, but we cannot let them off the hook.

iirc, 2000 was the last time I was in a polling place. I was surprised that 73% of the 2018 vote was mailed in. The only difference I saw with this year's all-mail balloting was the postage paid envelope. In previous years I had to put a stamp on. A couple of times there were off-schedule ballots for limited things like mil levies where I wasn't interested enough to spend 47 cents or whatever a stamp is these days.

I didn't watch any election coverage but by 7 AM the next morning all the results were announced, no fuss, no bother. The Democrats lost so badly across the board they had little choice but to grin and bear it. I don't recall an election with as wide margins in all offices.

Ah, the relief. My mailbox was empty yesterday. The radio station I listen to in the morning carried attack ads by the Democratic candidates. They'll miss the additional revenue. I like their music mix even if they are stinking lefties :)

My vote for Bernie in the primary didn't work either... Either time.

Do you think the Democratic ticket would have gotten more votes if she

This clothing influenced politics.

Vice presidential candidates don't influence votes very much from what I've read. Harris might've been a bit more influential because of Biden's health. Biden's reason for choosing her as his running mate still doesn't make sense to me. Hillary Clinton lost more potential support because of her speaking style than her clothing choice. She has that scolding tone in her voice while speaking. The good speakers sound as if they're in the living room talking to their buddies.

Is there any reason to believe Hillary would have done better? The Muggles of the world would still be saying no. We were never going to be able to seal our borders like those islands Trader is so enamored with. We also have no way to lock down state borders. When Desantis simply tried to stop out of state cars and advise them to quarantine, he was called a fascist.

Lighten up Francis. I didn't say mail in voting is bad. I vote by mail. I only said it was the reason why we had better turn out. You folks need to relax and read a little before you strike.
