Bulb Ban

OK by me. I'd never go back to incans. I switched over time in my last house and in 4 1/2 years here, every bulb was already LED. Never had to replace one yet. With dimmers, no reason to have those 3-way that usually ended up as 2-way after a short time.

How many LED oven bulbs can you find?

I have several older than that. Do not know how LED's hold up to continuous moderate use like in a bathroom. I have had CFL's fail after a few months, figuring that short periods on and off wear out the electronics with thermal shocks.

Tastes vary. I like the yellow light from incandescents, and the fact that they put out a range of spectra. I still have some candlebra-base incandescents for the sconces in the bedroom. When my supply of replacements is gone, I'll switch to LEDs.

I also like the light from halogens; I have some in the home office and in the bathroom.

Incandescents cause global warming. Gas cooking appliances cause global warming. ICE powered SUVs cause global warming.

A true-blue Detroit liberal would go all electric.
