Last night on America's Got Talent a group put on a show with drones.
Nothing like you would imagine. 1000 drones. various formations including a rocket launch. It was the most spectacular thing I've ever seen on the show.

Note that the timeline on the article is January 2018. You can find youtube videos of similar performances.
I'm not taking anything away from the group but it's nothing new. I'd also bet they were using DJI (Chinese) drones.
