I have often recommended Lidl tools as I have always been pleased with their performance and Lidl's customer support when the odd thing does go wrong. No more! I made the mistake of buying their 2 stroke 4 in one Strimmer, pole, saw etc.
First time I had to replace the nylon strimmer cord I had to use so much force undoing the case that I damaged it. Having got it apart I could see the arrows directing which way to turn to open it were pointing in the wrong direction! Lidl at first refused to replace the part as its classed as a "wearing part" so not covered by the 3 year warranty warranty. Only after supplying images and saying I would return it for full refund did they agree to send a head as a "goodwill gesture"
A few weeks later the on off switch kept switching the machine off just from the vibration of the engine. This apparently according to Lidl is also a wearing part and therefore not covered by the three year warranty! They wanted £13 for a replacement. Again much back and forth emails and comments on their Facebook page took place before they agreed to send the switch again as a "goodwill gesture". What a swine that was to replace, when I took the hand grip apart a little spring pinged out from who knows where!!!
Now the fuel pipe from the tank has separated into two parts inside the tank. Close examination suggests it was always two parts only joined by the grommet where it enters the tank. Guess what, Lidl don't want to know apparently the fuel pipe is also a wearing part and therefore not covered by the three year warranty!
I have replaced this with a £2 piece of pipe but am still pursuing the issue with Lidl asking for a refund of the repair cost.
