Retaining clips ?

Hello,

I'm needing to mend a childs kiddie-car but don't know the name of the part that I need or where to get it.

The clip/circlip keeping one of the wheels on the axle has come off. It's one of those clips with a domed outer, and the inside has spring "fingers" which grip the axle rod when the clip is pushed over the end of it.

Does anyone know what the correct name for the clip is, and where I may be able to obtain the item in question?

Doh, I used to know the name for them, but I can't think of it now. I think you can get them at places like B&Q or craft centre. They may or may not be complete with dome outer. Don't forget to take the diameter of the axle rod with you.

Or failing that, go to a fastener centre, but you will probably find that they have a minimum order.

Or, drill a hole in the end of the axle and put a split pin through it, assuming there's room.

Steve
