Hello, This question is about elevators that don't need a Lift Motor Room at the top most floor. Do they need additional head room on the topmost floor to accommodate the (car+motor)? Thanks in advance. Soji S.

There are all sorts of elevators from very fast high rise, to home models. And then large service elevators. Below is a web site which has drawings and specifications for various models. Note there are many other elevator manufacturers world wide and other models would be available in Europe.
