Unbelievably bad customer service from tooled-up.com

Isn't there a minimum amount for this? 200 quid?

Actually, this requires a little explanation. o Buy one £100 item by C/C - you are covered o Buy two £99 items by C/C - you are not covered

Also, accepting a partial refund complicates matters, but can be forced upon you by the sale contract. Eg, trade supplier also sell to retail, but terms as trade so a seller does not accept returns under DSR and will impose a 25% restocking fee on unopened returns.

Cheshire Trading Standards to a consumer will say illegal under SoGA, to a business will say they can "exclude certain rights under SoG legislation apart from description and title, subject to a 'test of reasonableness'". Somewhat different advice :-)

Something to be aware of re "trade suppliers" re tools in particular, 25% restocking fees are a nice earner.

(It was several RCBOs from Rapid Electronics, they were ordered Sunday, cancelled 9am Monday, but arrived later the same Monday. Schneider agreed to do a pure residential callout for RCBO recall. Returned unopened, refused to refund the 25% fee less postage).

Some CCC (credit card companies) will go beyond the terms set by the CCP (credit card processor) and refund on items below £100. Others will not, but are bound by the CCP (eg, VISA/Mastercard). CCP for example require delivery to a card registered address, CCC can allow delivery elsewhere - but bear the risk.

GBP100 as stated by other posters.

But, MSDW (now sadly bought by Goldfish) have refunded me on purchases for less than this when I've contacted them.

As others have also stated, that limit is for claims against the card issuer rather than the retailer, in the case when the retailer ceases trading.

See above.

Not true - it is joint liability for any breaches of contract, and not just limited to retailers ceasing trading.
