They are, Bob ! Exceeding expectations by a long way, considering that at this point, the primary method of promotion has been simple word of mouth ... :-) The quantities and average spend per customer, has been going up night on night. To some extent, this *is* to be expected, as food places always get busier as the week progresses. The telling time will be next Monday, when we will be able to see if the growth is maintained, or slides back to the same level as the previous Monday.

I think most of them are already on good smack.

Or other substances of choice.

Annual? More like your pseudo-surname :-)

Looking good!

Bad news. You're about 20 minutes away and 'en route' to where the monthly TVRCC meeting is. I may be forced to drop in and do a review....

:o)

Seriously, though, the best of luck.

Thank you kind sir, and I'm sure that the missus and daughter will make you most welcome. Note though, that the opening times have been revised back to

10pm, for security reasons.

Despite conventional advice that you can't cook roasties in it, my wife's roasties, done in olive oil, are the best in the world.

I'm never sure where conventional wisdom comes from. Patate al forno are a favourite in Italy and they are just roast potato with herbs in olive oil. back when we sold our oil at food fairs I had many people assure me that one cannot fry in olive oil or that to do so would cause the oil to become toxic.

I'm sure someone sits down and dreams up this drivel in order to sell more lard/ groundnut oil/ rapeseed oil.

If that was the case, every celebrity chef on TV would be guilty of mass murder by proxy ! In the last few years, every last one of them chucks liberal amounts of olive oil into a smoking hot pan, before putting the food in to fry / brown / sear / colour ....

Same people who dream up horror stories about nuclear power plants in order to sell more windmills, I reckon ... :-)

Yup, the same ones who claim burgers give you cancer and that beansprouts are really good for you.

...and very good it looks too! Feels nice and substantial and the worktop fits beautifully. Those 'murials' look good close up considering how much they've been blown up.

Enjoyed the burger (1/2lb Mexican) and the chips are excellent. I'll be back

Thank you, kind sir. Your comments are appreciated. Did you make yourself known to number one daughter as a UK DIY'er ? She's the one not on the till. Probably hovering over the milkshake side. I'll pass on your good wishes to them. Did you get on all right with a half pounder ? I found it a real mission to get through when I tried ! Wife up the corner is responsible for the chips. She takes them very seriously ... The murals were done by a local company. We were very pleased with them.

I remained incognito. If I spot you next time I'll give the secret uk.d-i-y sign :0)

It's ...substantial isn't it? :0) Next time I think I'll stick to the

1/4, might be able to manage a shake then.

The shakes look popular. One order for 4 in progress and another for 3 while I was there had those blenders running full-tilt. Could be a bit of a bottleneck when it's busy...
