I am trying to figure out which Delta mobile base is the right size for the
18" Jet bandsaw (JWBS-18). The base dimensions are not in the Jet manual. Thanks for any help.

Great idea to use the Delta base. The base that Jet sells really sucks. I bought it and hate it.
If you use the Delta that uses wood, make sure that weight won't be a problem.

I used a Delta Universal mobile base (the kind that normally uses 2x2 oak for rails) with the same saw you have. Instead of oak, I used square steel tubing 1.5"x1.5" outside...worked the nuts. I use the same arrangement on my 15" Jet planer, as well. I believe that the wall thickness on the tubing I used is .125", BTW.

My first choice is to get an assembled metal base. Unfortunately, according to a previous post, the Jet base is 18" x 29" and the closest Delta base (50-275) accomodates 17 1/4" x 29".
An alternative is the 50-287 which holds 22 1/2" x 32" and so would probably require an added piece of plywood.
