Just received my second order from Steve Wall Lumber this Tuesday -- 100BF of 8/4 Cherry. Dealing with these folks has been a pleasure, theyrespond promptly and the quality of the wood was better than I could haveobtained locally. Only problem is that shipping is a bear: added 1.34/BFto the cost of the lumber. However, even with shipping, the cost of thelumber was actually less than I would have had to pay locally and thequality was way better. My first order was 5/4 poplar back in July just to check out the serviceand quality. The first order did not disappoint, so I felt confidentplacing an order for the more expensive lumber. They may become my supplier of choice; even with shipping they arecompetitive and the quality is way better than what I can get locally.+--------------------------------------------------------------------------------+ If you're gonna be dumb, you better be tough +--------------------------------------------------------------------------------+

Mark, I should have mentioned I "almost" did business with another place closer by (Texas).

It was when they were first starting out. It appears they've moved into a larger facility so sales are probably going ok. Haven't checked on their pricing lately but it might be another option that reduces your shipping. Cheers, cc

That was the name I was looking for. The first shipment I picked up, the yard had a number of trailers with the Overnite logos still on them. Not so many of those this last time.
