That's some huge Lee Valley store there in Ottawa... like almost HEADQUARTERS size, eh? That was on the way back from a quick visit to Ottawa's Jazz Festival..and THAT was on the way back from The Montreal Jazz Festival. 30th anniversary...it was frickin' awesome. Lotsa Blues too..and some New Orleans style all acoustic jazz. Montreal is only 8 hours from my house so, the girls wanted to go shopping, and my youngest daughter is kicking butt in school, and made it on the honours list, so as a French immersion student, what better way to treat her than to let her loose, with a girlfriend, in beautiful Montreal. The fact that the Jazz Festival was on the same weekend, was purely coincidental. Really too bad I had to go home because The Mad Dog himself (Joe Cocker) is doing his new jazzy/bluesy stuff on July 9. When I got home, I had to warm up the amplifiers in my man-cave with that great rendition of Dylan's Seven Days off his Sheffield Steel album.
I shot some hi-rez fotos of some carved frieze work, so I can 3D them in my shop. Aside from a bit of rain, I had a wonderful time, met up with some old fiends in Ottawa and we got a bit of a chuckle when we saw a CNN report on the Canadian healthcare system.
