I have arrived! (or I'm an addict, one of the two)

Today in the mail I got a box with a Woodworker's Supply catalog -- not just *any* WWS catalog, it was the *Our Best Customer Catalog*. This is a hardcover edition, and as they describe it, "A whopping 21,000+ tools, accessories, and supplies have been packed into more than 600 pages to give you the broadest selection of product funcions, features, and benefits available."

So, why did I get this catalog? Well, further down in Mr Wirth's intro it answers that question: "A question I am frequently askied is 'why did I receive a best customer catalog?' The answer is simple, you are in the top 2% of our customers who provided us with a very large portion of our business..."

Now, while I am flattered by all this, this is somewhat daunting. You see, WWS is not the only place from which I order tools. Therefore, if I'm falling into WWS's top 2%, and I'm ordering from Mr Lee, and Mr McFeeley's screws, and the occasional thing from Woodcraft, and an order to Lie Nielsen, and ...

You get the picture.

So, am I hopelessly addicted to this hobby, or is this really a good thing?

I guess a bottle of glue and a couple drill bits doesn't put me in the upper 2%.

Are you addicted? Nah, you're just rich... which is not bad in itself :)

Not rich by most definitions, but certainly blessed. Looking at my spending record, I guess I have gotten most of my major tools through WWS, so that added up.

You just make too much money. Probably have too much room too. Oh well, hey, I pay less in taxes than you do. :)

Cha!

I'm thinking, and maybe it's just me, that there might be a country somewheres in the world who is/are eye balling your tool budgets and dreaming...

Yeah. You're angling for an *Our Best Customer Catalog* from Mr Lee, Mr McFeeley, Mr. Woodcraft, and Mr. Nielsen.

I buy quite a bit of stuff there too for our company (and my hobby). Not

*that* much though! Their contractor prices are not too bad. About 10% less if I remember right. SH

It make you wonder one of 2 things: Is their business THAT bad? or Wow, I spent THAT much there this year?

Ayup, it all feels quite familiar, and on a lesser scale (no commas and fewer zeroes), I'm paralleling you.

C - Both of the above. Enjoy!

Whew, you've got a bit more money than me, that's for sure! Though I did get the local Farm and Fleet to allow me to place orders without paying up front because I convinced them that it would allow me to buy more tools that were in stock while waiting for my order to arrive... guess they figured I couldn't skip out on my special orders when they're the only Delta dealer in driving distance. Now, I'm really worried. I got both...

However, I'm in the 'replace the old shit with some much better stuff' phase.
