Chip Carving class in Boston

North Bennet Street School, Boston, MA will be hosting a chip carving class on

14-16 November 2003. NBSS is located in the Old North section of Boston, right next to the Old North Church. NBSS has been training people for employment in a variety of programs since 1885.

Jeff Fleisher will be the instructor for the class. Jeff is a woodcarver living in Northern Virginia. Jeff's work has been featured in Wayne Barton's book, The Art of Chip Carving. Jeff is also the inventor of the Stamp 'n Chip kit for carvers interested in learning chip carving.

Chip carving is a decorative form of carving. Many rosettes and incised carvings on furniture are a form of chip carving. Chip carving can be used to decorate jewelry boxes, furniture, bowls and plates, and many other wooden objects.
