AIR COMPRESSORS

Aug 26, 2003 2 Replies

i have a p-c 2hp 6 gal pancake compressor. i have read conflicting ideas about whether to drain the tank after every use or leave it charged. it doesn't take long to fill the tank, but every now and then, i need to have right away. is it ok to leave the tank charged, or should you drain it after every use. thanx in advance !!!!

Probably a hundred and one possible responses to this based on individual preferences, but for me, personally, I'd drain the tank if you aren't going to use the air within a 48 hour period after filling it up. Drain any moisture from the tank at least once per week. Again personal preference, but this is recommended in most compressor manuals.

It's only a 6 gallon tank Dave. Wouldn't be a problem if he drained it, wouldn't take much to refill it.
