Looking at some of the photos of the scene the driver managed to demolish two sets of railings - one either side of the pavement.

There is a proper crash barrier, further along to protect the bridge, but the railings look as though they are only there to keep pedestrians off the road on one side and from falling into the car park on the other. I doubt they would do much to stop something as heavy as a Range Rover even at 40mph.

There is quite a drop into the cutting where the station is and there isn't much give in railway tracks hit from above.

Explaining reasons is not doubling down

After a long and varied life meeting many different peoples from around the world and many different classes, I have discovered that what culture you are brought up in and what genetics you have do actually make a difference.

If you want to call that 'being racist' that's your problem.

Arabs, and to a lesser extent many Indians, are crap drivers. Why, I do not know, but the answer is not in my perception, its in my Indian friends insurance premium

I can take an educated guess at why Indian drivers are crap: have you not seen what the Indian driving test involves?

Doesn't explain the ones who were born in the UK and who got their license in the UK.
