Which tape would be best? (Roofing)

Hi can someone offer any advice, which one of the below would be best for me.

It's for a felt roof shed, and i'm planning on putting 6x1 of the sides (overhang) to make it look much neater. Now there will be a slight gap on the top between the flet and the wood. I'm having a 1" gap above the roof line so the tape will join to this.

Will the felt tape work

Yes that would do or if you have some felt left over cut out a 9" strip to perform same function, and bed in with bitumen mastic and felt nails.

Re the tape always stick best if substrate brushed clear of dust/loose garnules, and after applying apply heat via paint stripper gun, even hair dryer. You'll see bitumen "fizzing" once hot enough and push tape gently down with gloved hands; use same tip with felt if you go that way.,

Ah, so if i go for the tape option i would need to get a heat gun and stick it into place. Will go down the route and 'borrow' the missus hair dryer. Thanks
