Isn't that *when* it updates itself?

I've started FF many times and it said something along the lines of 'Firefox updating' and then you carry on with the new version?

well once i had it downloaded it took about 5 seconds. Linux Mint (3 various flavours)

Seems to stumble along OK...

never a good plan. Linux will generally crash the running version once the new is loaded and ready to roll.
