Wall hung WC - soil pipe routing

SWMBO wants a wall hung WC in the new bathroom. The current arrangement is a normal close coupled toilet, soil pipe exits horizontally, immediate 90 d egree bend right, and then a short run (well under 1 m) to the main stack.



I've ordered this frame for the new pan:

So far as I can see there is no reason why I can't hook this up to the exis ting soil pipe arrangement - but the installation instructions

don't seem keen on this arrangement - they want the first bend to point dow n, or no more than 45 degrees from the vertical. I see no reason why this s hould be the case. I doubt that there's anything physically restricting to


Perhaps the outlet setup within the bog pan itself is shallower, to fit into the effectively reduced height, and that affects the outflow?

It's certainly shallower - but Abacus allow this arrangement

I suspect that it may be something to do with continental regs? The Abacus one has a manual written in English, the Ceramic one is clearly translated....
