Volts

Well looks like the volts have gone off definitively now. Been a bit flaky all evening. No call from UK Power networks yet, though.

Volts is electron 'pressure', Amps is electron flow rate.

Well who's a lucky boy. We're at the end of a rural spur and there was a thunderstorm last night.

You are kidding?

A real thunderstorm? Of the sort we were promised would become hourly events because ClimateChange??

I've only seen one this year and that passed by several miles away.

Well I can't help that, you know. Off went the volts, after which the lights flickered twice as they tried to reset it. It coincided with the storm, which did seem short-lived but did include some extremely heavy rain for about 20 minutes. After which I was asleep.

How exciting. My heavily loaded server did go down at one point in the year when the lights went dim for a second.

I might have heard a distant rumble.

My server was OK as I have a UPS. But I figured I'd shut it all down anyway as I couldn't see anyone going out to fix it during a thunderstorm.

Beat me to it.
