He said he couldn't get planning permission to do exactly what he wanted. But then few ever do. If they did, there would be no need for planning restrictions anywhere. You just do what you want. So flouncing is a very appropriate term. For someone who couldn't get his own way.

I'm guessing 'yes' (especially the last bit) as that's the fanatic Brexiteer way. ;-(

I wonder if any of them actually had a Brexit 'Pros and Cons' list and if there was anything in the 'Pros' column for any of them?

I think they could learn a lot from the computer game, 'The Sims'.

You have to manage a world, work to pay for things ... and you soon learn that if not enough of the people are paying in, or there aren't enough people to pay in, it all does downhill very fast.

I think Brexit has become a bit like BS5750, a quango, a job for the boys where pretty well everything stays the same (as it's looking so far) but a minority earn a lot out of it, paid for of course by the majority. ;-(

I've played sim city, didnlt like the sims that was more aimed at girls. As you could have attributes like sportyness, humour the the characters would interact. based on those values including looks a very right brained way of doing things.

Where as sim city you had to make a profit, and in most cases the best way of getting a large population was to lower taxes and reduce education and health care and emergancy services. This attracteed mor epeople to your town. You could then shoven them oin high rise blocks for cheapness and further cut services. I had about 66 acopeligos{SP}. The more peole you crammed in the less services you needed because yuo had large numbers of people paying minium tax.

Sound familiar ?

I like sim city 2000, I even edited some of the building and I change teh airplane to look like the starship enterprise.

Although I bought sim city 4 IIRC I only played it once it was sort of boring due to odd things happening that lack any sort of real world senerios.

But I'm guessing you were a The Sims type of guy rather than a sim city type.

No it was a village and you made it ointo a town then city with an airport. It wasn't really a sim world.

yes so you imported more by lowering taxes and yuo could do this by cutting health care and education.

Ypu do know that the original sim city was designed to simulate/emulate town called brussels.

It was better when we had different ages for different things. Like no restrictions for knives and glue (for making model aircraft - kid stuff); 14, then 15 for full time work (I don't know how old you had to be to do a paper round); 16 for X films; 16 to marry (with parents consent if not in Scotland); 21 to vote. Now everyone becomes instantly adult at 18 and is allowed to do anything - but is looked at with suspicion if under 25 and buying booze.

I thought it had always been 18 for X rated films?

It changed from 16 to 18 in 1970.
