Bwhahaha. Can you really imagine such people gutting and filleting fish at the rate / accuracy required?
Fact mate, look it up. Why are many industries / companies desperate for people (inc unskilled people) if that wasn't the truth. 180,000 required in hospitality alone as we stand.
As just where they should stay thanks.

I'm sure that varies by company. Some will care, others less so. Onmany of...

It also changes with time, look at those that live in whitechapel and niegbouring brick lane over tha last couple of hundred years.
There are also many easten european shops that have opened up over recent years. Nothing wrong with that but therer are those that I have no idea how they make money from the few cusomers they seem to get.
One near me got closed down due to trafficking, think it;s a hairdressers now.
Lots of betting shops and gambling places have appeared in recent years too.

They can learn.
We?ve more than that unemployed claiming benefits.
Round up some at the ER protests.
So you are happy to pay wasters benefits to sit at home and import cheap labour, incurring the further costs of housing, NHS, and everything else. Not exactly economic sense, is it? Certainly not looking at the big picture.

What?
Ok? So, when / where were these built then as there were none just now? (And so which ones do you think I was referring to)?
What's with 'assumption' and this 'all' stuff again?
A large school has been build locally on some unused land and another has had houses built in spare land at the front. An older school is now a housing estate. The new school takes some overspill from Nth London schools.
<shrug> I was talking about what we *need*, not what we might end up with and that's NOT lowing the number of migrant workers right now (and why it doesn't seem they are).

Don't think they had to apply for planning permission or go through public consultation and then appeal and hearing by planning inspectorate then another appeal then submission to secretary of state.

I was answering your question.
Of course if you have evidence to prove me wrong I'm very willing to consider it.
Nothing in my reply denies that there were prefabs built /after/ the war
- IIRC some 150,000 of them.
What's your source? What do you or they mean by "need"? And by "stable"? Absent answers it's hard to know what to make of your claims and understand why they differ from ONS projections that (even before proposed changes to immigration) showed both the Old Age Dependency Ratio and the alternative Active Dependency Ratio increasing through to the 2060s .

The combination of information from all sorts of sources.
'Need' as in to carry on having enough people paying tax at the current levels to offset the costs of pensions for those being paid from the original pensionable age.
Without that we can:
Increase the tax thresholds for the existing workers (unlikely given they are trying to keep them sweet to stay in government).
Increase the profitability of the country and therefore earn more profit to pay corporate tax on (unlikely under the circumstances).
Cut general Government spending (unlikely given they promised more Police, more hospitals, more nurses and all the other 'magic money tree' spending).
Borrow more money (likely as we were trying to reduce the national debt).
When enough of the original people are no longer claiming pension and the books balance (re that anyway).
Pass. I didn't think we took any notice of these experts and just went with our gut reactions and clairvoyant predictions?
You know, 'Let's get Brexit done', when there are as many versions of Brexit as people who voted for it and we *still* don't know what it will actually be (inc even deal or no deal)?

We have stages for the young, age of criminal responsibility (10?) age of consent, then finally age of majority at 18. What I find incomprehensible is other age limits like 21 or 25. It's saying well you are not really a full adult at 18. It's ridiculous, It was straight forward when it was 21.

It's not a question of making allowances, ageism is like racism making blanket generalised assumptions about a particular group or individual largely based on pre conceived prejudices.

More to the point, shops and suppliers can always import more. But oddly enough we can't import land to build the extra houses and infrastructure required. Hmm, I suppose we could always annexe Poland or the Sudetenland.

Didn't that nice Mr Dyson flounce off from the UK quoting planning not allowing the factory he wanted? Nothing to do with cheaper labour elsewhere? Allegedly.

OK, then. So things like being able to draw a pension should be based on the individual's ability to work? And any other age related things?

Really? You think it OK not to have anything decided by age. Except where it is of benefit to you to do so.
