Yes - when that is the way you are /explicitly/ told to use it by the person who is supposed to know the job.
Would you trust the Party that edited the clip to make him look bad?

Well it is a planishing hammer which is supposed to have mirror finished faces so I would not want it used to hammer a piece of material through what looks like a forming template, however I think he needed something a bit more substantial.

Other reports have it as a chasing hammer where neither face is flat

As well as to hammer with his arm, not his wrist.

OK, thanks. I'd only met the term before in connection with what you did with a hammer (including pneumatic hammers to flatten welds!)

Oh look a politician made to look bad . Shades of Milliband and the bacon sarnie incident.
Journos (of either stripe) will leap on a chance to make the opposing side,or a member of same, appear stupid/ridiculous.

PSA: the OP is a known troll and nym-shifter in other groups, he's already been banned from the Apple Support Communities. Please don't encourage him. He also has a habit of crossposting his threads to alt.computer.workshop which is a group he's taken over and tries to suck people into responding there.
I see Wodney has turned up again here too (this week's alias 'Klop').

The ‘expert’ should know better than to use that type of hammer even that way.

What evidence do you have of this?

I don't know about that! Please share.
How do you feel about that?
Btw, with regards to the use of the hammer, do you have any engineering experience upon which to make a judgement?

For 'either' read 'any'.
That's pretty much the reason I do not take heed of any 'journalist'.
My degree is in Mechanical engineering (although mostly theoretical, as part of the course we got day release to Kingsway technical college to do hands-on stuff tin bashing, welding, turning etc). However I made no comment on Sunak using a hammer or how a hammer should be used . I would have deferred to the 'expert' and used the hammer 'sideways'.

I have a 4lb club hammer and its main use these days is as a door stop on hot days. Note I did not have a fire extinguisher around at the time.

David has a thing about authority figures.
Any forum, David knows an authority figure lurks in there. The Moderator. David will pull the chain of the forum, until the Mod bans him. Then David applies for another account, socks up, and asks "Why did you ban David?". Rinse and repeat.
Then, later, David will prepare notes on the individual (Mod), his associations, his shoe size, what his favourite colour is.
It's a hobby of sorts.
Everyone should have a hobby.
David made it into Kookpedia. There is a page there for him. But I can't prove it to you, since the archived copy of Kookpedia was removed by someones efforts. David just isn't in the same class as the other kooks, and can't hold a candle to the professor in Florida? who thought the people in AUK were helping him. Now, that was a hilarious incident. The AUK people would say one thing, the nutty professor would turn it around into "they're helping me". Eventually, the professors associates figured out something was wrong (I think the students may have reported him), and he disappeared. Now that was a real... but harmless... kook. It puts the other kooks, who play at being kooks, to shame.
With David, it's faster to make a list of the places he hasn't been banned, than to try to list all the places he has been banned.
*******Threads kept in Google are almost unreadable. You can't tell who said what, or what the attribution is. But anyway...
It's just not worth finding the original copy of that.
