Bet he wishes now he'd chosen a nice steady career in IT ...

Yes, I have! Great food, great women, great scenery ... not somewhere I'd spend a huge amount of time, but a nice place all the same. Much better if you have the money to make the most of it mind you.

Oh I dunno, there are a lot of avenues open for him. I mean look at swervin' Irvine, he now owns a Dublin minicab firm.

It's a long time since I've been out there so I don't really know what it's like there now. Back in the '80's it seemed far less trashy than you imply. Anyway ... Essex girls fight all the time - when the last time you saw a big gay punch up!? It's Essex boys in their pathetic little wannabe cars that annoy me ...

Nope. Socialism is the opium of the upper classes.

I think most racing drivers would disagree there! His F1 career is finished for sure (now I sound like Shu ...!), however many F1 drivers go on to have long careers in other racing disciplines. Or for that matter follow other sports and become commentators or chat/quiz show hosts!

He could earn a proper salary any time he wants. Stacking shelves at Tescos might not be his cup of tea, but he's not going to be short of opportunities to continue earning - should he wish to.

What I think you meant to infer was that his big-fee earning opportunities may be drawing to an end. But he was never really top rank anyway - won a few races here and there, but after the aircraft crash which nearly finished him 3 years ago he's not got the mindset needed to be considered a top rank driver (or rather, he's developed a mindset, which F1 drivers often don't have ;)).

You never know though - he might pop up in broadcasting or have a cushy number as a test driver. That would certainly derate his earning potential, but perhaps not so much as to make him the same as us ordinary mortals.

You may be right there.

MOST of the tradesmen I have come across - surely as wurking

clarrs as you can get, are somehat to the right of Ghenghis

Khan and Mussolini.

Roughly, Toryism is the refuge of the bourgeoisie, those that have to make something of their effo=t and skiil, whilst socialism is teh reguge of Orgaibnsatin Man, who realises that he has no essential skill, and disinclines to make the effort, when whingeing and voting will get someone else to do it for him.

There is essentually NO refuge for the professional, the person who actually IS capable of running things at some scale. They are simnply nort represented in politics at all.

Not at the same salary tho.

And arguably few are very good at it.

He's struggling for a drive this year, neither he nor Kimi nor Alex can comfortably fit in the cockpit at the moment, the only Mclaren driver to complete a test session in it so far is Pedro. Never mind eh, there's always the Monaco hotel he's part owner in to fall back on.

Most of them make money out of their craft skills, but few are brainboxes.

They're building dozens in Melbourne: my retirement home (hopefully) is a 25th floor flat in the heart of the city with virtually everything within walking distance, or failing that tram stop outside the front door. The problem with UK ones was (a) putting the wrong people (i.e. families) in them and (b) having no security.

They don't work, they just deal in drugs, go round mugging people and live off overgenerous benefits, while hiding behind the 'Campaign for Racial something or Other' if anyone dares to complain. I expect that loony left ?jamaican bigmouth who is 'running' it will be demanding taht we are taken off air any minute. Ps All around the London Underground are adverts from either the Met or Red Ken proudly proclaiming that stolen phones don't work. Maybe someone should tell them that most stolen phones are in West Africa within a couple of weeks and are working fine there
