Today's offer, not.

E-mail from Screwfix advertising a 5-piece cross-head screw remover set. Sounds interesting. Click the link, it's out of stock. And this is the first day they have advertised it for sale. Duh.

The catalogue has been printed and the email campaign started, but stocks haven't yet arrived?

That sort of thing annoys me. More so when I go to a supermarket to discover a double whammy, that something I was intending to buy is worth less than I usually pay, and it's now out of stock.

So I buy an alternative might even stick to that.

Tesco had a scheme that you could get a ticket to buy it at the sale price when it came back into stock (if the price had gone back to normal in the meantime). Of course that scheme didn't last long!

I do wonder if suppliers understand the negative philosophy of temporarily reducing prices.

I don't know whether anyone still bothers with my ScrewfixFutureDealOfTheDay page?

It still churns out pictures, I'm not sure whether they coincide with real offers, but it often has sold-out offers waaay in advance, e.g 19th April is a Paslode nailer, but a same/similar nailer is not out of stock for 21st July, two DeWalt lasers are out of stock later in July, a thicknesser is already limited stock for mid September

Oddly, 7 Day Shop also offered "A Tool Kit Essential - 5pc Cross Head Screw Removal Kit - Only £4.99"

This too was OOS. :-(
