Tiling- How long does it take ?

Feb 04, 2005 4 Replies

Any advice on estimating this ?

Small bathroom; usual fittings, no window. Strip old tiles, tile with new tiles, trimmed around washbasin etc. as needed, then grout. Tiles are simple plain whites. Any thoughts on how long it "ought" to take ?

Secondly, any rough ideas on how much a commercial tiler would charge?

Thanks,

Our shower room is fully tiled, around 12sqm of 6" tiles. That took about 2.5 days to tile, grout and clean up.

Our bathroom has tiles on 3 walls around the bath, and a few behind the basin. Total of about 5 sqm of 6" tiles. That took about a day to tile and grout.

You mentioned tiling around the washbasin - have you considered removing it first? I think that's quicker in most situations, and gives a neater finish.

for me a day per wall ! A pro would take one day and 200 quid

I did about 13 sq m and it took between two and a half and three days, or about a days work for tiler.

200 - 400 perhaps...

I was quoted £25/sq m in london. I did it myself...
