The olden days....

does anybody watch recorded programmes on the TV and hanker back to the old pre-virus days and laugh about the stupid petty things people used to worry about four weeks ago ?....

While events have stopped us doing some normal things, we aren?t just watching daytime TV etc.

There is no reason we can?t, for example, still go for walks. We are planning on several days out taking the motorhome to the coast, I may even do some fishing, a long walk, have some lunch in the motorhome, and back. Perhaps some days doing radio rather than fishing.

'Our way' seems remarkably limited. We've had one fatality, and a limited number of cases - nothing like London. Even going by the Gov 'multiplier', which is almost certainly a better guide to the real number of cases compared to the known (tested) ones, it is nothing like some areas. People stopped travelling into London quite quickly it seems- London is the hotspot- offices etc switched to home working etc quite quickly as far as I can tell.

Some places have been taking precautions long before the Gov. suggested they did- everything from hand cleaner to social distancing etc. and older people not attending things. Of course, the shops are another matter. As for the snowflakes- We popped out yesterday in the car and there were groups of youngsters milling around- some schools have been closed early- one or two had cases or have staffing issues due to people self isolating etc.

The Gov advice is clear, they want people to continue to exercise etc. It is close proximately with people you don't live with etc that is the problem.

From home I can be on a footpath in about 40s; the roads are OK - I've walked for an hour without seeing anyone. Though today that I should disiter my Thorn Audax - cycling is better than walking for keeping well clear of others and passing time is a lot less.

Yet national parks are closing due to idiots going on the footpaths and congregating together. Also bad is idiots taking their camper vans to sites and having communal parties in the field.
