Do you need to download the appropriate software to communicate with your phone? Mine is more ancient than most - a Nokia N95 - but I can download or upload just about anything to it via the PC. Indeed if I need to send a text and I'm at the PC I'll do it via that - easier for me to use its keyboard.

Get a proper phone. Highlight the text and select "copy" go to email and select "paste".

Alternatively connect your phone to your computer using the USB lead. Run the SMS software provided by your phone's maker, select the message, copy and paste it into your email application.

This should work unless you have a phone designed and manufactured by the Babbage Analytical Engine and Mobile Telegraph Company Limited or one of their contemporaries.

Having just tried it, forward the SMS and enter an email address rather than a phone number. Your service provider will forward it to the email address and charge you some money for the service.

I did forward it to the clients son, it was sent from my phone as 7 messages :-)

It's a Samsung Immerse. Basic, but bloody near indestructible. It's rated IP67.

Install the Samsung software that came on a CD with your phone or go to:

Select the New PC Studio tab and download PC Studio. This has an SMS manager for Samsung phones. I think it works with your phone. It lets you open SMS on your phone and also lets you write messages on your PC and send them via your phone.

If that's NBG try Kies on the same page but I'm not sure if that supports SMS management. Worth having one or the other because these will back up your phone, keep the software updated etc.
