Strengthening a wheel clamp

Are there not more easy ways of removing wheel clamps other than an angle grinder. Youtube videos show how to remove boots with ease.

The gippoes round here seem to favour battery angle grinders. Bill

granite chips packed into the tubes?

Fill with almost anything? Concrete? Lengths of rebar?

Yes, and I wonder if they could be in some substance that would hold them in place. Or could I get a strip of granite? Is there anything harder than granite?

Silicon carbide, which is what the grinding wheels will be made of, or boron carbide, which is the second hardest material known to man, after diamond. You can buy both in powder form, which could be mixed generously into resin to pour into the tubes. Aluminium also clogs grinding wheels quite effectively.

Is it better to have something solid or something loose inside of the tube? With something like chips or pebbles the fact that they can move while the cut is being made could jam up the cutting tool or perhaps make it kick back.

I suspect however no matter how the tube is DIY reinforced it's not going to delay someone too much if he has a decent angle grinder and a diamond blade.

What is Bill's intention? To stop someone pinching the vehicle or to stop someone pinching the wheels?

ISTR that a filling of ball bearings with a pour of aluminum is used as one layer in safe wall/door construction. Nearly impossible to drill -- the hard ball bearings spin in the soft aluminum matrix, and catch drills. The aluminum clogs cutting wheels and also conducts heat well. There will be other layers to counter other attacks.

I'd put rebar in the tube, and leave it loose so it can spin and snag.

Alternatively: a sealed tube of dye? Plastic tubing with the ends melted shut?
