They are brilliant and worth getting. I have seen these in tool stalls for £10.
So, you have never used one then?
Dave
Never seen one - do you have a pic somewhere I can look at?
PatnDave, I said, now look again , "They are brilliant and worth getting". Just for you, the nuts are put in the bit with the jaws.
Locking adjustable wrench:
I use it for most things.
Is it like this?
Looks brilliant to me although I've never tried one - be interested to know.
I also have the adjustable ratchet wrench in that page as well. Very handy indeed. Most plumbers use water pump pliers for everything chewing up nuts and the likes. They use them because they have an integral easily adjusted ratchet mechanism. The Stanley locking Smooth jaws and ratchet wrench together are superb and replace using water pump pliers that chew things up.
Do you cut plastic pipe with it?
Can it do that as well Russ? Cor.
I don't know - you're the one with all the product literature
Only the very worst bodger uses an adjustable spanner 'for most things'. Reasonably competent DIYers will have accumulated the correct tools for the job in hand. Professionals will of course already have them. Remind us again what you claim to do for a living?
The message from "Dave Plowman (News)" contains these words:
Work of the devil, adjustable spanners.
Russ, you say that with such confidence.
** snip much senility **
Sad but true. This one cuts the threaded tails on taps. Yes, he does.
But knows what he's doing, unlike those who cut polypipe with a hacksaw, then moan when the fittings leak.
Oh I do like people who like to have fun.
Yeah - gimme a birmingham screwdriver anyday!
Yes, Richard, the senile one, champion of kilts with lockable inside pockets, is only allowed rubber versions. The men at the home are so understanding.
It would be good to hear you say that from time to time instead of making it up as you go along.
