One tip that I am grateful for is to only use liquid soap (shower gel - hand wash, etc) on the shower, bath and washbasin. It doesn't leave the scum and residue that bar soap (fat based) leaves behind.
If you find that your tiles and shower screens are left dull looking then give liquid soaps a try.
Hydrochloric acid does it for me

Doesn't that leave you looking a bit red and blotchy though?
Makes my balls tingle though.
Being serious for a mo I've never had any skin problem from it. Might explain my sometimes acid nature though.
