Sfix spam? Or (sort of) real?

Sfix have just emailed as below.

Part of me thinks there could be some legitimacy. Bit the other half of me suspects you have all received the same thing! (Well, those that use Sfix and so they know your email addies.)

It isn't going to help me (or them!) - I simply do not need anything sufficiently to spend 50 quid in the next couple of days. Simple sceptical...

(Anyway, there site is always a problem these days.)

Is it definitely from Screwfix? There may be a link in the email which

*says* screwfix.com but if you hover the cursor over the link and check your status bar, it may be for somewhere completely different, someone fishing for your login details.

Most of the email is full of links to screwfix.info but they all end up going to screwfix.com.

And I have been searching a bit the past couple of days or so the possibility of genuineness isn't beyond the bounds.

Why not email screwfix from their official site and ask them.

I was in Screwfix (Hillsborough) on Wednesday and they had to use manual sales forms for everything as the main network was down - they said that it prevented on-line sales and they couldn't process refunds. So it would seem plausible that they are sending out discount codes to people. Did you try to look at their site recently?

Yes - I did. Thanks - that makes perfect sense. Email those they knew were online when they had problems! Wish it had a nice long use-by date... :-(

sometimes if you try to logon to their website at dark o'clock, it's down for maintenance and they have a holing page offering you £10 off any order the next day - or something like that, so it sounds similar, but then phishers send emails designed to sound familiar ...
